About De Drentse Koe
At De Drentse Koe, itโs all about spending time together. Children can play freely, families have time for each other, and young and old alike can feel at home during a day out.
What once began on a farm in Ruinerwold has grown into a family play farm with its own ice cream, welcoming thousands of visitors each year. Yet one thing has always remained the same: the farm atmosphere that can be felt throughout the grounds.
De Drentse Koe is still a family-run business today. Together with an enthusiastic team, we work every day to create a place where play, discovery and hospitality are at the heart of what we do.
Our strengths
We are a family-run business. We believe that a great day out isnโt about a packed schedule or big attractions. Itโs the combination of freedom, space and spending time together that makes a visit special.
Children can play and explore both indoors and outdoors, creating their own adventures. Meanwhile, parents and grandparents have space to sit together, catch up or simply enjoy watching the children play.
Thatโs why De Drentse Koe offers indoor and outdoor play all in one place, with plenty of space for multiple generations.
Continuing to improve
De Drentse Koe continues to develop. Not because we have to, but because we want to keep offering visitors something new.
Over the years, new play facilities have continued to be added, from play barns and a pump track to the popular interactive pixel floor.
In December 2025, we opened our newest play barn. It includes a large toddler play area, new group rooms, a stage, food and drinks, laser tag, electric tractors, roller skating and funbowling.
This means thereโs always something new to discover, for both first-time and returning visitors.
Lisa & Loetje
For many children, Lisa & Loetje have become a familiar part of a visit to De Drentse Koe.
With their shows, meet & greets and adventures on the farm, they bring cheerful moments throughout the day. Children sing and dance along and often look forward to seeing them again.
What started as an idea has become an established part of De Drentse Koe.
Appreciated by visitors
The greatest appreciation comes from visitors who enjoy coming back. Families who have had a lovely day, school groups who have enjoyed themselves for hours, and children who are already asking when they can come back as they leave.
De Drentse Koe has also been voted Drents Outing of the Year several times, and every year we receive many positive comments from visitors from across the Netherlands..
Weโre proud of that, but above all, grateful for it.
