At De Drentse Koe, you can combine a day out with good food and drinks in Drenthe. At our family play farm with its own ice cream, you can take a break and sit down together for lunch, coffee, a treat or some Drentse Koe IJs.
While the children play, parents can enjoy a cup of coffee, a freshly made sandwich or something else to eat or drink. A chance to sit down together before carrying on with the day.
Whether you visit for a full lunch, a short break or an ice cream on the terrace, food and drinks are simply part of a relaxed day at De Drentse Koe.
Food and Drinks on the Farm
A day of indoor and outdoor play naturally includes something good to eat and drink too. That’s why our family play farm with its own ice cream has two welcoming places where you can sit down and take a break.
The restaurant is located by the entrance. It’s a quiet place for coffee, lunch or simply sitting together while the children chat about everything they’ve been up to.
Further into the park, you’ll find Boer & Bar. It’s a convenient place to grab a drink, some Drentse Koe IJs or a snack. Pick something up and then head back out to play.
When the weather is good, you can sit outside on the terrace, overlooking the park and the children at play. If it’s a little cooler, there’s plenty of comfortable seating indoors.
You’re welcome to take any food and drinks you buy with you into the park. So you can enjoy a snack or some Drentse Koe IJs in between playing.

We use a variety of products in our kitchen, so we cannot completely rule out cross-contamination.

For many visitors, a day at De Drentse Koe wouldn’t be complete without an ice cream.
We can understand why. Our own farmhouse ice cream is made with fresh milk from the family farm in Dwingeloo. We’ve been making it our own way for over 25 years: creamy, smooth and with the pure taste of fresh milk.
Stopping for some ice cream is simply part of the day. After playing, while walking around the grounds or as a treat at the end of the day.
